CHILDREN'S MINISTRYChildren's Worship
The children join us for worship at the beginning of the service each Sunday. Last year, they learned the Lord's Prayer so that they are able to pray with the congregation. After the Children's Sermon, they go off to Sunday School or Preschool childcare.
This year they learned about Holy Communion and joined their parents in receiving communion on World Wide Communion Sunday in October.

first time on Easter, and the second time on World Wide Communion Sunday.
Learning
For Sunday School, we use the Live B.I.G. curriculum. The children enjoy the hands-on activities and the DVD. They are also excited about using their Bibles for the first time this year.
Serving Others
One way the children learn to love others is by reaching out to those in need. This year, they participated in the SouperBowl of Caring. They also prepared School Kits for the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
A Safe Place for Children
A number of years ago, KUMC adopted a Safe Sanctuaries policy, the purpose of which is to ensure that all children are safe from any type of abuse. In addition to certain procedures that have been put in place, our teachers and care givers have attended training and are Safe Sanctuary certified.
